摘要

•A facile conversion of coconut husk into formic and acetic acids was proposed.•Acidic pretreatment is beneficial for improving the yield of formic and acetic acids.•Effect of reaction parameters on the coconut husk conversion was investigated.•A 50.2% yield of formic and acetic acids was obtained.
