Operational photovoltaics power forecasting using seasonal time series ensemble

•Seasonal time series ensembles are used for day-ahead PV power forecasting.•A total of 10 time-series/NWP models are permutated to form different component-model sets.•Eight different methods of combining component-model forecasts are compared.•Using ensemble is less risky than choosing the best individual method.
