Polymers synthesized via catalyst-transfer polymerization and their applications

•Catalyst-transfer polymerization is useful for accessing conjugated polymers.•Copolymer sequence affects solution- and film-phase self-assembly properties.•Dispersity and regioregularity also strongly impact device performance.•Applications of polymers in optoelectronics, sensing, and imaging are discussed.•Fundamental work in organometallic catalysis is needed to expand the scope of CTP.
