摘要
It is generally accepted that the cause of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is related to the over suppression of bone remodeling (1). The management of patients with MRONJ is challenging. Currently, there is no strategy available clinically to reduce the risk of MRONJ. The peptide parathyroid hormone (PTH 1-34) has been shown to stimulate bone remodeling. We hypothesized that the local application of PTH (1-34) immediately following dental extraction would reduce the incidence of MRONJ.
