Effects of high-dose alacepril on left atrial pressure and central aortic pressure in awake dogs with mitral valve regurgitation.

•Effects of the high-dose of alacepril on the hemodynamics in dogs with experimentally induced mitral valve regurgitation were assessed.•High dose alacepril reduced aortic pressure and left atrial pressure.•The reduction in left atrial pressure was preceded by a lowering effect on the aortic pressure.•High dose alacepril showed no adverse effects within the short-term.
