Therapeutical Effect of Tongtai Capsule on Model of Prostatitis in Rats

It is to observe the therapeutic effect of Tong Tai capsules intragastric administration in experimental model of prostatitic rats. These results can provide a basis for clinical application. Methods: The prostatitic model was made by hemorrhoid injection and inject prostate notopodium.Every rat was treated with Tongtai capsule by intragastric administration according to weight for 30 days,after one hour, fetching blood and separating serum, the enzyme activity of SOD, MDA,GSH-Px were determined, then the rats were sacrificed by dislocation, the wet weight of prostate were weighted, next it was fixed with 10% formalin, HE dyeing, and pathology changes of prostatic tissues were observed. Results: Tongtai capsule can obviously degrade the wet weight of prostate and the level of the prostate index in rats, to improve inflammatory infiltration of prostatitic rats and to elevate antioxidase activity in corpore,to degrade lipid peroxidation in corpore. Enhance the body's ability to eliminate free radicals, can regulate the body of oxygen free radicals and improve the role of metabolic imbalance. Tongtai capsules have favorable effect for improving the pathological changes of Prostatitis in rats by histopathological examination.Conclusion: Tongtai capsules have favorable therapeutical effect on Prostatitis in rats.
