Encoding decisions and expertise in the operator's eyes: Using eye-tracking as input for system adaptation.

•We developed a Decision Support System (DSS) that integrated eye-tracking measures.•Eye-fixations helped the DSS to capture the context that determined user decisions.•Due to this fact, the accuracy of consecutive DSS suggestions was improved.•The last fixations prior to the decision strongly aligned with the selected choice.
