Synthesis, Characterization And Photocatalytic Activity Of Nanostructured Copper Doped Tungsten Oxide

In the present work, the Cu-WO3 and CuWO4 nanomaterials have been synthesized by microwave irradiation method. The characterization of synthesized Cu-WO3 and CuWO4 nanomaterials were carried out using various advanced techniques. The X-ray diffraction pattern confirms the formation of orthorhombic phase Cu-WO3 and anorthic phase CuWO4 nanomaterials. The scanning electron microscopic image shows the nanoporous morphology of Cu-WO3 and CuWO4 samples. The synthesized Cu-WO3 and CuWO4 nanomaterials successfully decomposed the methylene blue under UV light irradiation. The higher decomposition efficiency was achieved by photocatalytic treatment of alkaline pH containing dye solution using Cu-WO3 nanomaterial.
