摘要
This paper has shown a numerical simulation method which can be employed to assess the parametric rolling of MV(motor vessel) "YU KUN". The assessment tool includes the susceptibility criteria for parametric rolling proposed by ABS(American Bureau of Shipping) and the mathematic model recommended by ITTC(International Towing Tank Conference) which can judge the occurrence and forecast the amplitude of parametric rolling, respectively. The strip theory is adopted to figure out the GM-variation and roll decay test is conducted to obtain the roll damping in this paper. Then the mathematic model is simulated in the Matlab environment to solve the rolling motion differential equations. The simulate result shows that the parametric rolling will occur on MV "YU KUN" in her navigation conditions, moreover, the roll amplitude will more than 25 degrees.
