摘要
Resection of duodenal polyps can be challenging due to the thin wall, rich vascular supply, and relatively fixed position of the duodenum. These factors confer an increased risk of adverse events such as bleeding and perforation when performing duodenal polypectomy. Underwater endoscopic mucosal resection (UEMR) has been described for the resection of duodenal polyps, although the published data are scarce. Duodenal UEMR is performed without submucosal injection and only enough water is infused to enable visualization. To date, there are no published studies comparing duodenal UEMR to conventional saline-assisted EMR for removal of duodenal adenomas.
