Inflammatory markers in ewes submitted to surgical or transcervical embryo collection

•The response of acute phase proteins (APP) was compared for ewes submitted to surgical and transcervical embryo collection.•The evaluated APP were total protein (TP), haptoglobin (HAP), fibrinogen (FIB) and paraoxonase 1 (PON1).•Serum levels of inflammatory markers did not differ between methods.•Serum levels of HAP, FIB and PON1 increased over time after D0 for ewes submitted to both methods.
