摘要

•Apical periodontitis (AP) was associated with increased serum levels of endothelin 1, intercellular adhesion molecule 1, E-selectin, interleukin 1, and soluble CD14.•Plasma levels of interleukin 1, soluble CD14, endothelin 1, intercellular adhesion molecule 1, and E-selectin in patients with AP returned to those of healthy subjects after endodontic treatment.•Root canal treatment ameliorated inflammation and early endothelial dysfunction.
