A Base Station Location Planning Method Based on Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm

As a new intelligent optimization algorithm, artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm has the characteristics of fast convergence and simple implementation. In this paper, ABC algorithm is for the first time applied to base station (BS) location planning. Under the comprehensive consideration of coverage and cost, the problem of BS location planning is effectively solved. Simulation results indicate the optimum BS location planning scheme and the best BS number. Moreover, they show that this method can achieve the trade-off between network construction cost and network coverage, and provide a reference for the practical application of network planning.
