In this letter, protograph-based folded spatially coupled (FSC) LDPC codes are proposed. The new folded-type structure is obtained by folding the spatial coupling chain of a conventional spatially coupled (SC) LDPC protograph and interlacing the nodes at staggered spatial positions.
