Effect of a 10-day transcutaneous trigeminal nerve stimulation (TNS) protocol for depression amelioration: A randomized, double blind, and sham-controlled phase II clinical trial.

•Trigeminal nerve stimulation (TNS) is an innovative neuromodulation strategy for the treatment of depression.•A 10-day TNS intervention is proposed with exciting results.•Patients undergoing the experimental protocol presented a mean reduction in depression symptoms of 36.15%.•Clinical improvement was sustained after one month.
