The new quality requirements set by the European Directives in regard to the limitation of energy demand in buildings, require that the established levels are based on weather conditions. In this paper a methodology for determination of a variable is known as climatic severity of the municipalities in an zone or region, so that has been refined and clarified processes, studying more novel methods for the determination present more precise climatic zones. You must have full climate records of municipalities, and if you do not have them or to complete them, following the rejection of traditional procedures for calculating sunshine hours, was introduced by interpolation, newest, used in other fields with corrections, thus improving the climate characterization it is done in the TBC. With regard to climatic severities it is also novel correction is carried out with the degree-day, using an average altitude corresponding to the municipalities of Extremadura with climate records, or consistent novelty in the final detailed study of the municipalities that were in limits areas and possible mismatches that occur. Finally it discusses and describes the climate of the region, reaching associate most areas to C4 zone (cold winters and hot summers), against zoning TBC, which links southern Extremadura area to the D1, similar to the north of Spain, where the winters and the summers are cool, which does not match the current climate in the south of Extremadura. The methodology developed in this work allows to establish the climatic zoning of any city in accordance with the Spanish Regulations on Energy Efficiency needed to meet these quality requirements Buildings, getting a more detailed zoning and accurate than existing previously.
