(1031) – ECMO Use in INTERMACS 1 Patients as a Bridge to LVAD with Intention to Transplant versus Bridge to Direct Heart Transplant. Single Center Experience

Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) is increasingly used in cardiogenic shock (CS) to stabilize patients and define further therapy. We sought to review our experience with the use of ECMO in INTERMACS 1 patients as a bridge to Left Ventricular Assist device (LVAD) with intention to transplant using Durable Continuous Flow LVAD (CF-LVAD) or Pulsatile LVAD (PF-LVAD), and ECMO used as a bridge directly to Heart Transplant (HT).
