Studies on the corrosion behavior of Fe-20Cr alloy in NaCl solution spray at 600 °C

•Environment is a NaCl solution spray at 600 °C that closes to real service.•Corrosion behaviour of Fe-20Cr is significantly different from the old study.•Corrosion of Fe-20Cr is enhanced by NaCl solution spray at 600 °C.•Small amount of Cl in unit time can inhibit the formation of Cr2O3 and accelerate corrosion.
