Profiling of derived-hepatocyte progenitors from induced pluripotent stem cells using nanoCAGE promoter analysis

•We compared two protocols of human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells differentiation to hepatocytes like cells.•We reduced the amount of growth factors to reduce the cost of differentiation.•Cap Analysis Gene Expression (CAGE) technology confirmed a typical hepatic profile for both protocols.•Transcriptomic analysis lead to the characterisation of the typical profile of the hepatocytes like cells for each protocol.•Both protocols lead to hepatocytes like cells with albumin production and positive CYP3A4 staining.
