Giant room temperature exchange bias effect in “314-type” cobaltate SrCo1−xVxO3−δ (x = 0.05, 0.1)

•We synthesized osingle phase SrCo1−xVxO3−d compounds by solid state reaction method.•The samples showed ferrimagnetic type of transitions above room temperature.•The negative magnetoresistance value up to 18% was observed at low temperature.•Large exchange bias effect HEB ∼ 1 kOe at room temperature and HEB ∼ 8.22 kOe at 10 K.•Giant exchange bias is due to compensated host and weakly ordered magnetic regions.
