In this paper, we find the number of subgroups in non-metacyclic, minimal non-abelian p-groups, p an odd prime. In particular, we study a problem introduced by Berkovich [Groups of Prime Power Order, Vol. III (Walter de Gruyter, Berlin, New York, 2011)].
