3D printed floating photocatalysts for wastewater treatment

•Wastewater treatment by floating photocatalysts has been successfully demonstrated.•Promising technology for an efficient, passive and low cost wastewater treatment.•Catalyst meshes of were prepared by 3D-printing to increase the catalytic surface.•Catalyst mesh outperformed the plate geometry (similar activity to dispersed TiO2).•TiO2 dispersion can increase by using a dispersing agent, xylene/anionic surfactant.
