Atmospheric ducts have a significant impact on electromagnetic wave propagation. Studying the distribution feature of atmospheric ducts is of great significance for analyzing electromagnetic wave propagation. Calculate the feature value of atmospheric ducts using ERA-interime data, and these value are verified by rocketsonde data, On this basis, the global ducts probability is analyzed based on 6 years ERA-interime data in this paper. The conclusion is that the trade wind belt in the eastern part of the ocean and the western part of the continent is the high probability zone of the atmospheric ducts. There are six high probability zones (occurrence probability >50%) on the ocean, which are the North Pacific Ocean High Probability Zone, the South Pacific Ocean High Probability Zone, the North Atlantic Ocean High Probability Zone, the South Atlantic Ocean High Probability Zone, the North Indian Ocean High Probability Zone, and the South Indian Ocean Western Australia High Probability Zone; There are three little or no duct zones: Intertropical Convergence Zone, Mid-High Latitude Zone in the Northern Hemisphere, and Mid-High Latitude Zone in the Southern Hemisphere. The position, range, and probability of occurrence of these high and low probability zones of the atmospheric ducts have seasonal variations.
