Recent advances in metallodrug-like molecules targeting non-coding RNAs in cancer chemotherapy

This review article summarizes the potential scope of metallodrugs as RNA targeting drug candidates and recent developments in the area of metallodrug therapeutics. 3d-Transition metal-based complexes are emerging as frontline therapeutics for cancers, nevertheless, their mechanism of action with potential RNA targets are still at cradle and need to be explored extensively. The article presents more naïve options of modulating drug discovery strategies involving metallodrugs derived from transition metal ions which are targeted to ncRNAs.
