Standardizing Total Parenteral Nutrition (Tpn) To Reduce Errors

Purpose: Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) is a source of alternate intravenous nutrition for patients who cannot tolerate enteral nutrition. The ordering and administration of TPN has been associated with high numbers of medical errors especially in pediatric patients due to its complex formulation that requires expertise to administer it safely.
