Checklist of Tabanidae (Insecta: Diptera) from Uruguay

The check list of Tabanidae fauna found in Uruguay is presented. We used data of previously identified species from the available bibliography, captures made by the authors, and revision of specimens deposited in the collection of Entomology, Facultad de Ciencias, Uruguay, and Museo de La Plata, Argentina. Actually, a total of 14 genera and 43 species are known in Uruguay. Catachlorops muscosus (Enderlein), Chrysops brevifascia Lutz, and Dasybasis alticola (Enderlein) are recorded for the first time in Uruguay.
