摘要

•Starch-coated Fe3O4 NPs prepared by green synthetic approach were obtained.•NPs were characterized by XRD, FTIR, TEM, SEM, BET, VSM techniques.•Fe3O4 NPs were tested for removal of the Optilan Blue textile dye.•Box–Behnken design approach was used to identify the optimum dye removal conditions.•UV–Vis analysis showed good removal efficiency of the selected dye.
