Activatable NIRF/MRI dual imaging probe using bio-inspired coating of glycol chitosan on superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles

Multimodal molecular imaging: SPION was coated by biocompatible glycol chitosan conjugating activatable NIRF imaging molecules via bio-inspired adhesion and its potential as a dual MRI/NIRF imaging probe for cancer imaging was demonstrated. Tumor was selectively imaged by dual modalities based on the nanoparticular nature and pH-tunable coating layer.
