摘要

•The deformations and mechanical stresses around a crack normal to surface that appeared under pulsed heat load are calculated.•Transverse to the exposed surface stresses may cause formation of cracks along the surface.•Emergence of perpendicular to irradiated surface cracks can be indirectly identified by formation of “ridges”.
