摘要

•GDF-15 is a marker of cell senescence and its blood levels are related with age.•No study has investigated the relationship between GDF-15 and geriatric conditions.•Frailty and comorbidity were determinants of circulating GDF-15 on top of age.•GDF-15 might be a surrogate for geriatric status.•GDF-15 provides prognostic information on top of geriatric status.
