Trends in the incidence and mortality of patients with community-acquired septic shock 2003–2016

摘要
•This study using Sepsis-3 definitions from 2003 to 2016 found an increase in the incidence of community-acquired septic shock admitted in the ICU.•Mortality decreased from 40% in 2003 to 26.5% in 2016 (average annual decline 1.4%).•Mortality during the study period decreased mainly in the group of patients who did not require source control, while in those who needed source control, mortality remained without significant variations during the study.
