An efficient Sn Mn1-O composite oxide catalyst for catalytic combustion of vinyl chloride emissions

•SnyMn1-yOx composite oxide catalysts were prepared by a co-precipitation method.•Addition of Sn enhances the specific surface area and improves surface properties.•Presence of Sn-Mn-O solid solution increases the redox property and surface acidity.•Sn0.6Mn0.4Ox catalyst shows the best catalytic performance for VC abatement.•Sn0.6Mn0.4Ox catalyst exhibits excellent resistance ability to Cl poisoning and water.
