Application of the Bayesian framework for forensic interpretation to casework involving postmortem interval estimates of decomposed human remains

•We present a framework for reporting evidence from forensic PMI estimation.•Results are presented as likelihood function, likelihood ratios or credibility intervals.•A model is implemented for indoor cases without presence of insects.•Multivariate model allows PMI estimation when partial body scores are masked.•EM algorithm is used to fit model to training data with uncertain PMI or temperature.
