Video-Based Automatic Evaluation of the 360 Degree Turn Test.

In this paper, an automatic, offline evaluation method of the 360 Degree Turn Test based on a video recording is presented. The provided approach is used to measure the time the patient needs to: (1) rotate 360. in a given direction, (2) pause and (3) repeat the first part of the test in the opposite direction without losing balance. The method is evaluated using 30 samples registered in a group of 13 residents of a Social Assistance Center resulting in a 2.42 s +/- 5 s mean absolute error and 19.85%+/- 30.52pp mean of the absolute values of the relative error. The results are promising in terms of the automatic assessment of the balance.
