Cross-reactivity in allergy: A double-edged sword.

Ragweed is a plant from the Asteraceae family and a major source of pollen allergens in late summer and autumn, especially in the US and Central and Southern Europe. In the US, most Ambrosia species are native, with a prevalence of ~45% in atopic individuals.
