Methamphetamine use drives decreases in viral suppression for people living with HIV released from a large municipal jail: Results of the LINK LA clinical trial.

•In Link LA, methamphetamine was the most prevalent drug used.•Non-Hispanic Whites were most likely to report methamphetamine use.•Non-Hispanic Blacks were more likely to report cocaine use.•Any hard drug use was independently associated with decreased VS (viral suppression).•Methamphetamine was the only substance independently associated with decreased VS.
