•A novel functional probiotic yogurt was prepared with Siraitia grosvenorii fruit (SGF) extract.•SGF extract addition to yogurt exhibited strong antioxidant, ACE-I and antibacterial activities.•SGF extract addition enhanced the organoleptic properties of probiotic yogurt.
