Prior studies have demonstrated the relatively low infectious adverse event (AE) rate of EUS-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) with the use of prophylactic antibiotics recommended only for pancreatic cysts. With the rise in EUS-guided fine needle biopsy (FNB) as a primary tissue sampling method, data are lacking regarding the infectious AE rate of EUS-FNB.
