Positional influence of Ru on Perovskite structured catalysts for efficient H2 production process by heavy-hydrocarbon source

•Perovskites for direct conversion of heavy-hydrocarbon source into H2–rich gas fuels.•Lattice and Surface type Ru were designed by changing the position and loading.•Positional and chemical changes of Ru species affected to the reaction mechanism.•Lattice doped Ru shows great activity with less coke formation/sulfur poisoning.
