•A UBGCS capability is developed to solve geometry criticality search problems.•A NCSI method is proposed and tested to accelerate the criticality search process.•The first detailed MC model of NHR200-II is established and analyzed in RMC.•The feasibility of using MC code to analyzereactor lifecycle problems are proved.
