摘要
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) nowadays are typically utilized for carrying out remote monitoring tasks, while Mobile Wireless Sensor Network (MWSN) on the other hand, grants the flexibility that the sensor nodes could relocate in terms of environmental changes, sampling efficiency and energy conservation, etc. The network coverage problem in the region of interest (ROI) hence becomes one of the critical issues that draws intensive attention to the researchers. This paper presents a novel approach for maximizing coverage and lifetime of the WSN, while guaranteeing the network connectivity. Based on the Voronoi diagram (VD) and the geometric center (GC), the proposed method GCVD enables sensors to only move within a safe distance which ensures the node-to-node connectivity, meanwhile, the maximum area coverage and minimum energy usage for movement can be achieved. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperform the existing sensor relocation algorithms in terms of the energy consumption while achieving the same sensing coverage rate.
