Background and Aims: Data regarding the effect of dietary proteins on cardiovascular and cardiometabolic risk are limited. Therefore, we aimed to assess the effect of an acute high-protein (HP) vs. medium-protein (MP) diet on serum lipids, arterial stiffness, and 24-h blood pressure, after a 34-month protein intervention (the PREVIEW study, ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT01777893).
