Effects of structural and concentration polarization on the efficiency of Pd membrane permeator

•The concentration distribution in complex geometries was obtained considering the concentration polarization effect.•The extraction efficiency is significantly affected by the flow field at the retentate side of the membrane tube.•The simulation results could be beneficial to the design of palladium membrane reactors for the tritium system.
