Non - electrochemical Na – deintercalation from O3 NaVO2

•NaVO2 is a layered oxide with limited electrochemical performance due to only partial sodium deintercalation from the structure.•Liquid exfoliation technique could help to initiate Na – ion removal in order to obtain structure with drastically different electrochemical properties.•In our work we focused on the liquid exfoliation of the NaVO2 and its properties after the treatment.
