Vision based weed recognition using LabVIEW environment for agricultural applications

The importance of machine vision using LabVIEW can reduce the human intervention in agriculture is presented in this paper. The developed method can process the digital images acquired through camera and the captured weed leaves are matched with presumed database for health confirmation. The controlled decisions like spraying or ploughing are set by the user followed by position calculation of the weed and proper health scenarios. Arduino takes the control from LabVIEW and limited amount of herbicide applied on the effected leaves with a sprayer, which can be moved through an oval shaped belt structure.
