摘要
At present, as per January 2019 scenario, Indian power sector has about 76 GW of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) out of total installed generation capacity of about 350 GW. Based on confidence of handling such large and complex integrated power system, in this context for the road ahead, multifarious studies have been carried out further with demand as projected upto 2022 and 2027. These studies consider more and more renewables with gradual phasing out of conventional fossil-fuels based power stations. The capability of the system to operate in a reliable and secure manner with non-fossil-fuels based capacity with penetration of 49.3% and 57.4% in 2022 and 2027 respectively has been established to serve the requirement of power and energy. Accordingly considering intermittency and energy content it is estimated that India's Intended Naturally Determined Contribution from sources other than fossil-fuels would be to the tune of 40% by 2030.
