Lithofacies architecture, composition, and age of the Carboniferous Teplice Rhyolite (German-Czech border): Insights into the evolution of the Altenberg-Teplice Caldera

•Teplice Rhyolite Formation was divided into nine members.•Deposits consist mainly of lava flows and massive, crystal-rich ignimbrites.•Three eruptions occurred through fissure vents with final trap-door collapse.•Teplice Rhyolite seems to have an overall normal chemical zoning pattern.•Age data point to a possible range of ∼325–317Ma for volcanism.
