Rheology of waxy crude oils in relation to restart of gelled pipelines

True yield stress and yielding process measured with waxy crude oils. The initial elastic region is jagged suggesting consolidating of the crystals and agglomerates formed in the elastic region. The fragmentation stress τf rather than the static stress τs is the more appropriate pipe flow restart stress.
