Rapid prediction and visualization of moisture content in single cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) seed using hyperspectral imaging technology

•Both Vis/NIR and NIR HSI were applied to measure MC in single cucumber seed.•The reflectance decreases as the MC increases in NIR range.•PLS Model built using 8 NIR effective variables selected by RF performed better.•Simplified models were used for visualizing MC distribution in two spectral ranges.
