•We propose a new image size reduction model for improving VSN performance.•The overlapping region is segmented based on camera parameters and content.•The sharpness for the overlapped regions is estimated to find the dominant region.•The proposed method partitions further the dominant regions according to capacity.•The noise is reduced by performing median operation over the dominant region.
